# Type your trades

> Write what you want instead of tapping through screens.

Send a short line to your bot and it does the rest. Capital letters don't matter, and a leading slash is optional, so `/long BTC 20 3` works too.

## Markets and charts

| Type | What it does |
| - | - |
| `btc` | Opens BTC's card |
| `btc 4h` | Opens BTC's card with the 4-hour chart (15m, 1h, 4h, 1d) |

## Open and close

| Type | What it does |
| - | - |
| `long eth 50 3x` | A \$50 long on ETH at 3x |
| `short sol 20` | A \$20 short on SOL at your default leverage |
| `long btc 20 3` | The `x` after the leverage is optional |
| `close btc` | Closes all of your BTC position |
| `close btc 50%` | Closes half of it |

`buy` and `l` work like `long`, `sell` and `s` like `short`, and `exit` like `close`. Amounts are position sizes, and the margin is the size divided by the leverage.

Unless you've switched on one-tap trading, a typed trade shows the same review as a tapped one before anything is placed.

## Take profit and stop loss

| Type | What it does |
| - | - |
| `tp btc 10%` | Take profit at +10% of margin |
| `sl btc 78000` | Stop loss at a price of \$78,000 |
| `sl btc 5%` | Stop loss at −5% of margin |
| `sl btc off` | Removes the stop loss |

See [Take profit and stop loss](https://docs.lancetrade.xyz/telegram/take-profit-stop-loss.md) for how percentages work.

## Screens

| Type | Opens |
| - | - |
| `home` | Home: your account, positions and markets |
| `positions` | Your open positions |
| `markets` | All markets and prices |
| `account` | Your balance in each account, and your tokens |
| `settings` | Your defaults |
| `help` | The guide inside the bot |

If the bot can't tell what you mean, it replies with an example to copy.
